Venetian Plaster

Venetian Plaster is a timeless Ancient Roman technique that gives an authentic, natural, and textured effect reminiscent of pre-modern Europe. Venetian Plaster is created from baked limestone and marble dust, which makes it extremely durable and completely non-toxic. Brushwerks has over 25 years of experience with Venetian Plaster.

Limewash is a perfect combination of plaster and paint that achieves a cloudy, earthy feel. Limewash is highly versatile, with a multitude of colors and movement possible. It is is applied using a brush, creating gorgeous textures and variation in depth to give your home a timeless look.  

Milk Paint is a soft, velvety mixture of milk protein and crushed limestone famous for being extremely durable. It can be used on almost any surface, but it is most commonly used on furniture. Dating back to the 17th century, Milk Paint was originally used on farms in Colonial America, and in modern times, it achieves a perfect, timeless "shabby chic" look.

At Brushwerks, we also offer a combination of plaster and limewash services. For this specific project, we took on the challenge to create a modern New York loft look. It was created by painting a mix of limewash and plaster over brick.
